To Host Or Not To Host

Do you really need a casino host? Are you self service in the Casinos?
More and more players are becoming “self service” with the introduction to computer technology to casinos. Most casinos are implementing the kiosk comp machines. You can check your points, get Cashback refunds, your buffets, and even enter drawings and contests all with a swipe of your player’s card.

 No more standing in line at the player’s desk or hunting down your host to “ask” for food. Some Casinos you don’t even have to do that, just get in line to eat and the cashier swipes your player’s card. Check with your casino on their comp policy before heading to get in line.
 
New technology is out now in some casinos the slot machines are like built in ATM’s.

You can use your approved and qualified player’s card like a debit card. You will be able to do all comp business while sitting at your favorite machine. No more buckets of coins, no more standing in line to cash coins, tickets, coupons, or asking for comps. It will all be at your fingertips.  All of this new technology will make more of us “self service players”.

Don’t get me wrong, Casino Hosts can be invaluable. They have the power and the resources to help get you a room when the main reservation system says they are sold out. They can help arrange that bottle of champagne to surprise your spouse on your anniversary. Hosts can educate you in how to use your comps and how not to for your benefit, just ask.
If you don’t visit the casinos but a few times per year and don’t build up mounds of comps you can probably get by on self service and be just as happy.
