Weather:Weather can be unpredictable especially the first part of the year. One day it may be 50-70 degrees and snow the next day and then back to 60 degrees. Old saying...if you don't like today's weather, wait until tomorrow. If you are planning outdoor sports or recreation check the weather forecast. www.weatherchannel.com. Majority of the year you will find Tunica's weather excellent. Summertime has a few scorcher days. Mosquitoes can be a problem occasionally in the summer months, but the casinos work really hard to keep the pesky critters away. Inside the casinos are always Perfect Weather.

Location of Tunica Casinos:Tunica currently has 9 Casinos. The casinos are not all along a strip such as Vegas. They are clustered.
In the casino center - Gold Strike, Horseshoe, and Sheraton are all within walking distance.
Hollywood and Resorts are next door to each other and have a covered walkway most of the way.
Sam's Town is across the street from Hollywood and Resorts to some it is walking distance, but to others they prefer to drive or take the shuttle. Just a matter of preference.
Fitzgerald's stands alone. Bally's stands alone, but is close to Casino Center. Harrah's Tunica stands alone with over 2,000 acres in the resort complex.

Getting around:The Casino Shuttle no longer runs to every casino.
Harrah's, Sheraton, and Horseshoe do however run a shuttle to their casinos. Check at the entrance to each casino for times and schedule.  The shuttles do run often.

Hotel / Casinos:Not all hotels are connected to the casinos. This is important to some.....not to others. The casinos without connecting hotels are the Harrah's and Bally's. Both run shuttles between casinos and hotels. Shuttles run every few minutes. Never a waiting problem. For a view of casinos and hotels check out our Tunica Mississippi Casino page

Recreation:Tunica has three golf courses. River Bend Golf Course located by Resorts,   Hollywood and
Sam's Town. Harrah's Tunica has Cottonwoods Golf Course and the Tunica National Golf and Tennis Complex.

If you like to fish there are many lakes and cutoffs in the Tunica area. Check out www.tunicalake.com
Also only minutes away is Arkabutla Dam and Lake, a state park.

Pets:If you are bringing a pet. Most casinos don't  allows pets. However Hollywood casino has a new policy where they will accept pets with prior approval.   A few Non Casino Motels allow pets, Treasure Town, and Cottage Inn. There is a Pet boarding place on Casino Center Strip which specializes in pet boarding and "baby sitting".  Just off Hwy 61 at Casino Center Blvd. Tunica Pet Resort is located at

Bringing Children:No one under the age of 21 is allowed on the Casino gaming floor. Security is tight on this issue. Children and under age individuals accompanied by parents/guardians or security can cross the gaming floor to go to dining establishments. Harrah's Tunica Casino and Resort has more for children than the other casinos. Kid's Quest Arcade - Arcade is for age 13 and up, under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Arcade has 70 state of the art Video machines, vending machines, redemption games, Pinball, and more. 8 tokens = $1.00. Arcade and Kid's Quest are in the same building across from the Harrah's Terrace Hotel.
